Oh, honey, I can shuck all night long!

Ok, oyster puns aside, there are not enough words to describe how much I love an oyster and champagne combo. The sweet and briny taste of a freshly shucked oyster always lifts my spirits.

I’m from Southern California and when it’s when an oceanside dive has oyster nights where you can fill up on them for just a dollar each, you go. to. town! But here in Beijing oysters are more of a bit fancier and filling up on an oyster feast can get costly pretty fast.

So for my fellow oyster lovers who want to eat but not spend their entire month’s paycheck on one night out, there are a few amazing oyster deals around town at the moment. But they won’t be there for long so. As they say, the early bird gets the worm. Well in this case, the early diners get the plumpest oysters!
Hatsune’s Annual Oyster Fest From Jun 11-20

For this year’s oyster fest Hatsune is serving up six pieces of jumbo oysters from South Korea normally priced for RMB 260 for just RMB 100 at all their locations around town, all day long! There’s no limit to how many sets each table can order and there’s no limit to what time you go.

And, as I’ve recently discovered, Hatsune has a fantastic list of strong cocktails! So half a dozen oysters, a few of your favorite rolls, plus a cocktail or two and you’ve designed your own tailor made afternoon tea set! Shuck yeah!

C Pearl’s Sunday Oyster Specials

If you can’t tell from the name alone, CPearl is big on oysters! They’ve got a different seafood deal for every day of the week, but their super good oyster ones have to be on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday.

On Monday all of their oysters, scampi, and carabinero are buy two get one free. On Thursday (I guess to celebrate the almost completion of another week), they have a buy two get two free deal on their oysters of the moment. And finally, on Sunday, their amazing oyster deal is RMB 10 for the selected oyster of the day. The type of oyster changes every week and starts as soon as the restaurant opens in the morning and will keep going until they run out. In other words, go early if you want to fill up on them!

V Shine: Cheaper by the Dozen

This casual eatery in Topwin center is famous for their oysters, as clearly seen in their logo of a person holding up a giant oyster. If you know how to use dianping, they’ve got a dozen oysters deal for RMB 388 every single day. It says that you need to purchase the deal on dianping to enjoy the discount, but usually, I’ve found that a quick chat with the wait staff and they’re usually happy to extend the deal to you with or without dianping.

Oyster Talk’s Afternoon Delight with Cocktails

It’s definitely not the cheapest deal in town, but for a tasty afternoon treat it’s not too shabby. For RMB 204 you get three freshly shucked oysters plus a glass of wine. Sip, sip, and slurp, slurp. Oyster talk’s deal is available until the beginning of July every day of the week.
